GENERAL Q & A

Are you able to repair any damaged rim?
Not all wheels are repairable. If unrepairable damage is discovered during the repair process, your rim will be returned to you at no cost.
Will my rim look brand new after the repair?
Repaired wheels are guaranteed to be in structurally and cosmetically sound condition. Any repair is inherently limited and the repair process may cause minor cosmetic flaws, as the rim submitted for service is used and cannot be restored to new/ unused condition.
How long does rim repair take?
Most repairs are same-day or next-day. Call ahead to schedule an appointment if you need a faster turnaround time.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, Bitcoin, Debit and all major credit cards are accepted. A 4% fee is added to debit/credit card transactions. Zelle will be accepted after April 2026.
When should I pick up my repaired rim?
The customer shall collect wheels within 48 hours after the completion notice. Storage fee begins after 30 days at $10.00/week until full payment and collection.

BEND & CRACK REPAIR

View service page →
Can a cracked rim be safely repaired?
Yes — but only a single crack. Our 3-stage repair includes TIG welding, straightening, then CNC machining the inner sealing surfaces to true the rim. Rims with multiple cracks cannot be safely repaired and must be replaced.
How much does rim bend repair cost?
Straightening a basic, light bend on the inner barrel costs $125 per rim for aluminum rims up to 19". Rims 20" and up cost more. Truing the rim by machining is an additional $75, if necessary or requested.
How much does crack repair cost?
Crack repairs start at $225 per rim for aluminum rims. $25 additional for chrome. Text photos to (209) 598-5202 for a personalized quote.
What warranty do you offer on crack repairs?
All repairs come with a conditional 6-month warranty which applies exclusively to the workmanship performed by Charlie’s Rim Repair. Any post-completion damage is expressly excluded from coverage.

CURB RASH REPAIR

View service page →
What is curb rash repair?
Curb rash repair is a cosmetic-only and non-structural repair which includes removing damaged areas by sanding, then color-matching and blending paint over the repaired areas.
Is this a good option to repair my rim?
Curb rash repair involves painting the repaired areas, therefore only powder-coated/painted rims can be repaired this way. Polished, chrome (bright or dark), and machined rims require special treatments without using paint.
How much does curb rash repair cost?
Typically $100 – $250 per rim, depending on the amount of damage and depth of the rash.
Will the paint be an exact match?
Due to age, weathering, and variations in original clear coats and metallic content, a 100% paint match cannot be guaranteed on repainted areas. We use quality automotive paints and will do our best to blend, but perfection isn't always possible.
Can I just drop off my vehicle and how long does it take?
We offer on-vehicle curb rash repair and will need your vehicle for the duration of the repair which generally takes 2-5 hours with appointment.
What should I do while you have my vehicle?
As we are in an industrial park, there's no customer waiting area to offer, so it's best to arrange for a ride to/from our location when you plan to drop-off and pick-up your vehicle. Downtown Modesto is a 5 minute car ride from us offering many food options and cafés.

CNC CURB RASH REPAIR

View service page →
What is CNC curb rash repair?
CNC curb rash repair uses a precision lathe to cut a brand-new face on your rim, completely removing curb damage. This is a true machined repair — not a filler or paint touch-up — leaving a factory-quality finish.
How much does CNC curb rash repair cost?
$125 for rims up to 22 inches. Larger rims cost more — text photos to (209) 598-5202 for an exact quote.
Do I need to remove my tire before bringing in my rim?
Yes. CNC repairs can only be performed on bare rims. Have your tire store remove the tire first, then bring your rim to us at 1641 Princeton Ave. #16.
How long does CNC curb rash repair take?
Most CNC curb rash repairs are completed same-day with appointment and require the rim to be true before machining.

RIM PAINTING

View service page →
How much does rim painting cost?
Rim painting starts at $125 for rims up to 19 inches. Larger rims cost more. Text photos to (209) 598-5202 for an exact quote.
Can the tire stay on during rim painting?
For minor curb rash on the face of the wheel, we can often do the repair with the tire still mounted. Text us photos and we'll advise you on whether that's possible for your specific damage.
Will the paint match my original rim color exactly?
We use quality automotive paints and work hard to match your original color, but a 100% exact match cannot always be guaranteed. Rim age, weathering, clear coat thickness, and metallic content all affect the final result.
What is the difference between rim painting and CNC curb rash repair?
CNC curb rash repair utilizes a computer-controlled diamond blade which removes rash by cutting a fresh surface. Alternatively, rim painting is generally for powder-coated or painted surfaces. Text us a photo and we'll tell you which is right for your rim.
